Use a write-off to record an amount you’ve forgiven or don’t expect to collect. It appears as a loss in your income reports without changing the original agreed-upon price.
- Start adding a payment.
- Enter the amount you want to write off.
- Choose the write-off option.
A write-off records a loss, not money received. You can write off part or all of an unpaid amount.
Invoices with partial or full write-offs are tracked separately so you can revisit them if recovering the balance becomes possible. You can edit or reverse a write-off later if needed.
